Migrin Everyday Life

For us, everyday life pretty much consists of sleeping, working, eating, taking care of each other and taking care of Emma (although that list will grow very soon).  The last part can be difficult at times since Emma is one independent little dog who thinks she's human.  She has acquired the family "sass gene" and although we can find that annoying at times, it also causes us to enjoy messing with her at other times...just because we can.

Despite how much we enjoy harassing Emma, we also thoroughly enjoy spending time with her and watching her curiosity and personality within.

In addition to enjoying Emma, we are also enjoying this very early spring (we love the weather and hope it sticks!)

McCray-Heiring Wedding

March 10, 2012: Today we went to Jenn McCray's Wedding, where we watched her marry Aaron Heiring.  It was a beautiful ceremony filled with love for God and each other, a great time of worship and some bright spring colors.  We wish her and Aaron the very best, but admit that we're a bit bummed to see our favorite (& only) dog-sitter tie the knot...only because we're guessing that she'll now have better things to do than hang out with Emma (& we don't blame her!).  ....so, if you're looking for dog-sitting responsibilities let us know! :)

Winter Storm 2012

February 24, 2012:  Today we woke up to this winter wonderland.  After months of “winter” with above-average temperatures we finally got a snowfall worth noting.  Since this was the only noteable snow that we received and it happened to be gorgeous, I had to take some photos to document the quiet, shimmery morning.

Blue Harbor Resort (2)

2.18-19, 2012: This weekend we went to Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan for a fun-filled family weekend.  We had a great time playing in the waterpark and enjoying some relaxing time in the hotel room.  The boys & mom had fun riding the slides, and all of us adults had a blast playing with the boys.  Caleb was content just to splash around in the water, and Micah had fun playing with the buckets and riding the kiddie slide (he must have gone down it at least 100 times) although he wasn’t a big fan of the tube slide.  At one point, Erika had to convince him to go do something else because his eyes were becoming bloodshot from the chlorine.  Micah also had fun turning the water wheel, and was convinced that it needed to be on.  Eric had fun annoying him with that though turning it off whenever he walked away!  It was a great, memorable weekend.

Blue Harbor Resort

Last year my family agreed to not purchase birthday gifts for one another and instead to use the money that we would have spent to do something fun together for a weekend.  We decided last fall that our "something fun" would be to enjoy a weekend together at Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan.  Eric and I had been there once before and thought everyone would enjoy a getting away during the winter (although I didn't know I'd be 4 months pregnant when we went) and also thought that Micah and Caleb would love it.  In February, we set out on our adventure together and everyone met there for a weekend of good 'ole family fun.  We had a great time, although I will say that I think next time we need more than one room (granted it was a big room, but it made for difficulty sleeping at night).  Anyway, I don't have much else to say...I figure the pictures will speak for themselves.  Enjoy.

Micah just loved playing with these buckets and dumping them!

Mom loved having her grandbabies around for the whole weekend.
The boys loved the waterslides.  (I wanted to go, but thought it probably wasn't a good idea for the baby).
Erika-I hope you don't mind that I put this picture in.   I just think it is  a precious picture of Caleb & his mommy! :)
Even Micah got to try out the water slide.  He wasn't a big fan, but he braved it out.  He had no desire to go again though.

Although Micah wasn't a huge fan of the big tube water slides, he WAS a big fan of this water slide.  He was a little tentative the 1st time down, but was a pro by the end of the day and must have gone down the slide at least 100 times.  Erika finally had to convince him to go do something else because his eyes were becoming bloodshot.
I think this picture is funny...not sure why.

Micah was a bit obsessed about this wheel and was determined to make sure that it was turned correctly to keep the water spout on.  He was SO determined that when another little boy came and shut it off, the two of them went back and forth turning it on and off until Micah gave him a little shove.  It was wrong, but I was so shocked, I couldn't help but laugh (to myself).
When I told Eric about Micah's little obsession, he couldn't help but mess with him a bit.  Micah would turn the water on, and then as soon as he turned his back, Eric would turn it off...nothing quite like messing with a 2 year old! :)

Micah and Caleb also had a good time playing together in the water.

What a cutie!

Every time that this boat dumped its water, Micah would look at it with a bit of horror.  I thought he'd think it was cool, but I am pretty sure he had no desire to get anywhere near it.
I <3 these boys! :)
Tug of war

To get into the waterpark, we needed to wear wristbands.  At first Micah wasn't crazy about this idea, but once we showed him that we all had them on, our "watches" suddenly became really cool!

Family picture in our hotel room.

We not only had fun in the water, but we also had a good time in the room and Eric and Micah couldn't help but make the best out of the loft situation.  (I apologize, as I am too lazy to rotate this video, but enjoy).

So....long story short it was great weekend and I sincerely hope that we do it again someday! :)

Migrin Everyday Life

So, I haven't really done a great job keeping up with the blog (again).  My pregnancy has been doing well.  I am continuing to grow and for the most part have been feeling pretty well...other than some aches and pains and difficulty sleeping.  We have begun to work on the nursery, and have been taking some pictures of the progress.  However, we don't want to post any pictures of the progress until it is a bit further along, so that everyone can reserve judgement.

Besides pregnancy, life in the Migrin household has been pretty easy going.  Work is going pretty well for both of us, and this week my firm got an intern (who will likely be filling in for me during my maternity leave).

Emma is also doing well these days and is a continual joy in our lives.  I cannot imagine what life without her would be like.  Even the sassy things she does make us smile.  For example, last night Eric put flea & tick protectant on her and she was so annoyed with him that every time he asked her for a kiss she would bury her nose under her blanket.  What a little snot...& yet we couldn't help but laugh.

"Pup Adventures: Playing, Snuggling, Loving"
January 9-March 4, 2012: Having a pup is the best!  Emma has such a fun little personality, and is always giving us a good laugh.  So far this year the laughs have come from Emma’s curiousity of broccoli, her fat lip from a digger off the porch, licking peanut butter off a tree and turning herself into a mud-pup. Besides laughing, I can also appreciate a good snuggle and Emma is usually willing to oblidge...especially if it means sleeping in our bed!
It has been very warm for a Wisconsin winter, and surprisingly our flowers are already popping up out of the ground.  Besides being well above the normal temperature, we have hardly seen any snow this year.  For someone that isn't a fan of winter, you'd think that would make me happy, but in all honesty I have missed it.  That is why when it finally snowed (February 24th), I couldn't help but take some pictures of the winter wonderland.
