Baby Life Week 25

This week, was much of the same old stuff mixed with some more Christmas fun.  The week started off with a lazy Saturday morning followed by Asher's first real bath.

Asher got a Thomas the Train Tugboat for Christmas from Uncle Clint & Aunt Kathy, so we decided we should try it out.  He had a good time pushing it around the tub.
After everyone was cleaned up, we headed over to Portrait Innovations.  Eric's boss had given us a gift certificate as a baby gift and we decided to use it to get some Christmas/Approx. 6 Month pictures of Asher.

This isn't the greatest picture, but I think it is funny.

After getting the pictures taken, we did a little bit of Christmas shopping and then headed over to Red Robin for a late lunch.  I had gotten a coupon for a free shake that I wanted to use, but when I ordered I was told that the shake machine was broken!  I was pretty bummed, but the waiter gave me a free dessert instead.  Eric & I chose the Mud Pie which we shared, and Asher was VERY interested in it.  Every time Eric would take a bite, Asher would open his mouth and try to get a hold of his spoon.  I don't blame him though, it was quite good!

When Monday came, we all had a really hard time getting ourselves out of bed.  Even Asher, who is typically a very cheerful guy in the morning, turned away from Eric when he tried to wake him up to get ready.  He was very tired and his morning hair looked the part...
Asher's bad hair day!

Yikes!
That evening, when Eric was feeding Asher his cereal, Asher was getting frustrated that he was not getting fed fast enough.  To remedy the issue, Eric let him drink his cereal from the bowl (teaching him bad habits right off the bat).  He was pretty happy.

On Wednesday I had my day off, which Asher & I spent finishing up the Christmas shopping, wrapping presents and getting ready for Christmas.  At one point, I put Asher down on the floor in the living room, a pretty good ways away from the tree, only to come back a minute later to find Asher under the tree pulling on the branches.  It is amazing how he can get around these days!

On Thursday, Eric decided that Asher needed to terrorize Emma a bit and let him "ride" her.  She tolerated it pretty well, but was not overly thrilled about it...hopefully Asher doesn't think this will be okay later on (when Eric isn't hold his weight off Emma's back).

Emma couldn't have been too upset about it though, because she did come back over afterwards and give Asher a big kiss on the face.

He was in shock.

Finally, Friday came.  Asher had his Christmas party at daycare, and Eric worked his last day for 2012. Then I picked him up and we started our Christmas weekend together!

Baby Life Week 24: The Christmas Season Continues

As I mentioned in my last post, this weekend started off with a visit from my mom.  On Saturday, we continued our cooking baking, and finished up a little after noon.  Then we cleaned up and did a little shopping at Kohl's before mom had to head back home.  While Mom and I made Christmas cookies, Eric watched Asher.  They spent some time looking out the window...

...and then Eric decided that he wanted to give Asher some pears for the first time.  We huddled around the high chair and watched Asher eat and laughed until we had tears in his eyes.  It seemed like he liked it, but was not overly fond of the tartness of the food.  Every time he got some in his mouth he would make a hilarious face, but then after he swallowed it and would come back for more.

Mom, Asher & I with the final results of our Christmas Cookie weekend.

Since mom left on Saturday due to the impending winter storm, we ended up having a Sunday free to do whatever we wanted.  This resulted in a very lazy family day at home, and by late afternoon, I decided that it was a good time to have a little (or big) Christmas photo shoot with my little man...

Yikes...caught off guard by the flash! :)

In awe of the tree...a big lit bush filled with toys!

It is getting harder and harder to take close-ups of Asher, as he now trys to steal the camera.

Asher & Daddy

My happy guy.
A silly smile while Daddy blows rasberries on his belly.

Concentrating on not falling over.

He is supposed to be wearing antlers, but he looks more like an elf from the Lord of the Rings.

1 Video: Christmas Photo Shoot

Most of the rest of this week was spent doing the usually stuff (work, eat, take care of baby, sleep, repeat).  However, on Wednesday Eric took the day off work so that we could have our traditional Christmas Family Day (it used to be more of a Christmas date, but now it is a Family Day).  We spent a very lazy morning relaxing at home, and then headed up to the North side of Milwaukee to enjoy some Christmas shopping and lunch at Mongolian BBQ.  I didn't get any pictures from the day, but we did have a good time looking around and just enjoying the season and each other's company.  That evening, after we had gotten back home, I came into the living room to find Eric & Asher having their own quiet moment enjoying the lights of the Christmas tree...I had to lay down and join them (but I will say that laying on the floor these days is much more painful than it used to be, and getting up afterwards is even moreso!).  All I can really say to sum all of this up is I am SO blessed!  :)
