Holy Crap!
Ok, so I know that probably isn't the best title, but today I totally had a Holy Crap moment. It is not like I forgot that there is a baby growing inside me, but at one point today I was in the midst of working & not really thinking about that fact when I looked down and saw my growing belly. "Holy Crap" I thought, there is a kid in there! We have been waiting and waiting for years for this time in our life to come, but now that it is here, it seems so surreal. It is a good thing that my belly is getting bigger, because now that I am not feeling nauseous all the time I think I would forget I was pregnant if it wasn't the growing bulge of my midsection and the fact that I can no longer wear my normal pants. I have to say though that as a person that has always carried my weight in the lower half, it is strange to have a belly bulge and I have a hard time fathoming the fact that it is only going to get bigger from here!

A Little Bit of Catch-Up
Since our life isn't quite exciting enough to blog daily, I will take the time I have (until there is something more interesting to share) to catch you up with a bit of the past, starting with Micah's 2nd Birthday.

The Adventures of Emma
While we have been doing a whole lot of nothing, we have also been entertained by the ongoing adventures of Emma. The first being her introduction to broccoli. She was excited when it fell on the floor and we didn't take it from her, but watching her figure out what to do next with it was pretty hilarious! She walked around with it in her mouth like it was a ticking bomb and then put it on the floor and batted it around the kitchen for a while. Finally, she cautiously began to pull it apart and eat it, and surprisingly (well not so much since she's our little garbage disposal), she ate the entire thing!
The next adventure was when I got an email from Eric at work telling me not to be alarmed if I got home before him and saw a bloody/scabby pup. Apparently, while Eric was home for lunch, Emma was on the back porch and launched herself off it in typical maniac fashion to chase a squirrel in the backyard. Unfortunately, she wiped out on her land on the sidewalk and took a patch of hair off the bottom of her mouth, and gave herself a bloody fat lip (which a few days later is still puffy). I'd say she won't do THAT again...but we all know she will.
Finally, last night after Eric & I dined at Red Robin (yum), he grabbed a balloon to bring home for Emma. It has been a while since we've done this for her, because she loves them and goes a bit crazy, but we decided that we'd treat her tonight, and after doing this several times in the past, we finally got a bit of the craziness on video this time.
Not So Great At This Already
So, I am not much of a blogger, but hopefully I will be able to catch up now that the holidays are over. The changes in our lives continue on from 2011 into 2012. As pretty much everyone who would read this knows...we are expecting our first child! After years of trying and praying, the time has come and I am now 15 weeks along. I cannot even begin to imagine how this will change the rhythm that we've created over the past 10 years, but I can't wait for it! So far, there hasn't been much change in me other than my eating habits (which have greatly improved) and my bedtime, which is now at about 9pm. My tummy is starting to grow and my pants are starting to shrink (that must be it, right?). I am also having the weirdest dreams, which for a Klingenmaier says quite a bit! :)
In other news the month of January has been fairly uneventful for us so far. We spent New Year's Day with my family having a "Klingenmaier Christmas", and have spent the 2 weeks since then doing nothing other than working, relaxing and organizing...I fear that for someone as OCD as me, "nesting" my have started a bit sooner than normal...but there is now no dust under my furniture, and my closets are tidy! :)
