Baby Life Week 2: The New Norm.

This week, life as a family of 4 (including Emma) began to settle down a bit and we began to grow accustomed to the new norm.  For the most part, we didn't have a bunch of appointments to go to or family and friends visiting, so we just enjoyed every day as a family and tried to get used to the Baby Life.

Since every day in Baby Life really isn't that different from the day before, I will let the pictures do the talking (mostly) from here:

July 7, 2012: Asher is 1 Week Old!!!  (On a side note: 25 years ago today I asked Jesus Christ to be my Lord & Savior!)

July 8, 2012:

I love this picture.  He has beautiful eyes!

Since my parents were around this weekend to help Aaron & Erika move, we had a little pre-birthday celebration for me at our house before they headed back up North.

I opened my gift from Eric, Eric's parents and my parents and I was SHOCKED.  Eric & I never do anything big for birthday or Christmas presents and try to keep spending under control, but I got an iPad 2!  I couldn't believe it.  It was the last thing that I would have guessed. 

I think I worried Eric that I didn't like it, because I was in such a state of shock, but I love it.  It was a great idea, just not something I would have thought I'd get.  It was a great idea on Eric's part though! :)

July 9, 2012:  My 32nd Birthday.  It was a great day.  Being a Mom that day came fairly easy and I just had a wonderful day enjoying time with my favorite Man, favorite little guy & favorite pup.

Eric made me my favorite for my birthday breakfast: Strawberry Belgium Waffles!  Yum!!!

For my birthday, we went on our first family outing to Red Robin to get my free birthday burger.

Eric's burger was bigger than Asher's head! 

July 10, 2012:

This bouquet showed up while I was taking a nap on Saturday.  It is kind of "dead" here, but I wanted a picture of it anyway.  It is from my boss...which in & of itself is a little amazing.

July 12, 2012:  Today Asher had is 2 week appointment with the pediatrician.  Everything went well.  He had gained weight (now 8lbs. 6 oz., still 22" long and his head circumference grew 1.5"-although the nurse said that wasn't totally accurate since he is no longer a cone head like he was in the original measurements).

July 13, 2012:  After my birthday, being a Mom this week was not quite as easy.  Asher had a hard time sleeping at night (he's a gassy boy), which meant that Mommy & Daddy also had a hard time sleeping.  We were (& are exhausted).  I told him tonight that even though it is Friday the 13th, his little monster doesn't need to come out tonight...thankfully it didn't, and we were able to get a pretty good night of rest that night.
