Fun with the Grandparents

As I mentioned in my last post, Eric's parents came to visit us this past weekend...

On Saturday, we met them at Jimmy John's for lunch and then hung out at home for the day.  I tried several times to get Asher to take a nap, but he was too excited about Grandma and Grandpa visiting and refused.  Thus, we really didn't do anything exciting, but just visited with them and played with Asher.  For dinner we had hoped to take them to La Fogata, but the wait was 1 hour, and with the mood Asher was in there was NO way that we were going to wait that long with him.  Instead, we headed over to El Sarape, where we were seated immediately and enjoyed a nice Mexican meal together.
This is what happens when you're 16 month old finds a full box of Kleenexes and isn't being properly supervised...

On Sunday, we started the day with a lazy morning at home, followed by a quick jaunt to the basement after the tornado sirens went off and then (after verifying that we weren't going to get blown-away) we headed off to church.  Asher was so tired having no Saturday nap and playing with Grandma and Grandpa that he fell asleep within just a few minutes of being there and continued to sleep during most of the church service.

Since Asher got a good one hour nap during church, he wasn't ready for his typical nap after church.  This worked out pretty good, because it gave him more time to play with Grandma and Grandpa before they left AND it allowed me to take a nap while they played!! :)  When nap/play time was over, we enjoyed an early dinner of Italian Beef Sandwiches, roasted broccoli, salad and root beer floats...YUM YUM!!  Then (sadly) it was time for Eric's parents to head back to Michigan.  We were sad to see them leave, but happy that we could enjoy a fun and lazy weekend visiting with them.
