Toddler Tales Week 64: Waiting

This week was all about waiting...waiting for the arrival of 'M' and waiting to say goodbye to our good friends.

On Friday of this week, I turned 40 weeks pregnant and as I write this I continue to wait to meet our little bundle of joy.  Although I hoped for the week to pass quickly in expectation of holding our little 'M' in my arms, I also dreaded the end of it, having to say goodbye to our friends and knowing that there was a good chance they would have to leave before the baby came.

To keep my mind off everything else going on during the week, we again did our best to enjoy some quality family time and also time with our friends before they left...

On Sunday afternoon, after nap time, we took a family stroll down to the park to enjoy the sunshine and let Asher play for a bit.

On Monday evening, Asher was walking around the house with a cup full of water, a sippy cup full of milk and a wooden toy milk.  Before bed, I asked him if he could put his milk and water up on the counter or in the sink.  This is what he gave me.
On Wednesday, Asher and I enjoyed our day off together with friends.  Since the movers were at their place, our friend Jen brought her kids over to play for the afternoon, so that we could spend some time together and the kids would be out of the way of the movers.  We had a great afternoon playing inside and outside the house.

Asher talking to baby Catie.  He tried to help me rock her to help her stop crying, but was a little rough.  We'll have to work on that!
That evening, Asher and daddy enjoyed playing outside for a bit, while I enjoyed some time alone getting dinner ready and straightening up the house.

Thursday morning: Asher with his new morning routine, cleaning the coffee table.
On Thursday night, the time came to finally say goodbye to Jen, Stephen, William and Catie before they moved to Atlanta.  To see them off, we went out to dinner with them and a few other friends at HuHot and had a great time of food and fellowship while the kids ran around the table (thankfully it wasn't very busy).

On Friday afternoon, with the hope of 'M's arrival any day and the end of the waiting, Eric's dad drove out to Kenosha to help us with Asher and stay with us in case we needed to go to the hospital.  Unfortunately, as I already mentioned there was no baby arrival.  Fortunately though, Asher got to spend a great weekend with his Grandpa, which allowed Eric and I a little down-time before life gets crazy.
