A Team Week 59: Dream Playground

Well, another week has gone in and out of my memory already.  It must have been a pretty low key week as the only thing that really sticks out in my mind is the beautiful day we enjoyed on Wednesday with temperatures in the lower 70s.  To take advantage of the unusual fall warmth, the boys and I met some friends over at Kenosha's new Dream Playground to check it out.  It was awesome!  My only complaint with it was that due to the abundance of wood railings for accessibility, it was very difficult to keep track of Asher while he ran around and tried everything out.  It is a pretty awesome playground and nice to have another playground in Kenosha that is a destination in and of itself.  Both boys loved it!

Asher purposely posed "cute", snuggling with Mickey and wanted me to send it to Christina (his day-caregiver)

Avery getting ready for hunting season (a Yooper holiday) with his adorable little camo hat.

This week the "naughty pumpkins" also made their debut.  On the morning after Halloween, Eric and the boys went to the grocery store.  They were taking down their decorations and gave Asher and Avery decorated gourds ("pumpkins") that have faces painted on them and a hat or hair.  Eric decided to turn these into naughty pumpkins which get into trouble as they roam the house while we are sleeping or away.  They have appeared in random places all over the house and continue to get into trouble once in a while over a month later.

Asher and Avery playing at the Dream Playground.  They had a lot of musical things to play on there that both the boys loved.

& Asher decided he would torture his baby brother for a bit.

At one point, I was doing my best to keep an eye on Asher and keep Avery (who loves to climb) from killing himself.  As I watched Avery, I suddenly heard a familiar sound...Asher crying.  He had fallen down on a car and hit his head.  After grabbing Avery, I went to console Asher who continued to cry even though he was mostly just scared.  Then, as he cried he looked up over my shoulder and asked, "is that Meijer?".  I looked over to where he was looking and sure enough there was a little city scape set up and one of the "buildings" had Meijer's logo on it.  He immediately stopped crying and happily ran over to Meijer.  I think he must take after his Daddy...Meijer makes everything better! ;)

On Wednesday afternoon, I had hoped both of the boys would take great naps after our fun on the Dream Playground.  However, about 20 minutes after I got them to bed, they were both up...so I put them to work.  :)

Wednesday afternoon, Avery decided to try to go for a walk in my shoes...

Friday night we had a family dinner/dessert night at Culver's...yum!

When we got home from Culver's, Avery was a bit wound up and desperately wanted to play with his truck outside even though it was bedtime.  To appease him, Eric brought the truck inside for a few minutes, which made him VERY happy...at least until it was time to put the truck back outside!

Saturday morning, we found the Naughty Pumpkins hanging out on the ceiling fan!

Video: Sleepy Lunch
On Saturday afternoon, Avery couldn't even make it through his lunch.  He sleepily attempted to feed himself his lunch, but when he couldn't stay away any longer we decided lunch was over and headed up to his crib.
