Christmas Day

Christmas Day started off bright and early with two very excited little boys.  We required them to stay upstairs (where they slept for the night to keep them from scaring Santa away) until 7am.  As soon as that happened, they came downstairs to check beneath the tree and get a jump start on one of our favorite days of the year.

After giving the boys a few minutes to look around, check and see if Santa ate the cookies they'd left out and discover that the reindeer had once again made a big mess in the backyard we got our Christmas Morning underway in our traditional style: Reading our Christmas devotion and praying as a family.

Afterwards, we took are annual family photo in front of the tree and then let the boys distribute everyone's stocking.

The boys got Whoopee Cushions in their stockings, so Avery 'tricked' Papa into sitting on his.

After we'd gone through our stockings, we continued by opening all of the presents beneath the tree.

Santa brought him the watch he'd hoped for.

Santa also brought some diapers for the baby!

After we had finished opening presents, enjoyed a yummy breakfast of Farmer's Casserole and Sticky Buns and had a little time to play and rest we all headed to the movie theater for a Christmas Day showing of the Grinch.  It was a fun, relaxing thing to do on Christmas and allowed the boys to still stay in their PJs all day!  ;)

When the movie was finished, we headed back home where we spent the remainder of the day playing and relaxing together as a family.  Is there a better way to celebrate Christmas? <3
