What better way to start off the winter holiday than with a snowman donut, right?
We spent most of the morning getting some last minute items checked off on our To Do list while the boys entertained themselves and Grandma and Papa who were planning to spend the holiday and following week with us. Then, a little before lunch, Aaron and Erika's family joined us for a fun Klingenmaier Family Christmas together.
As soon as they arrived, Mom worked on getting everything together for a brunch of breakfast burritos while we took all of the boys into the living room to play the Saran Wrap Ball Game...which really just turned out to be a bit more stress than it was worth. Oh well.

When the game was finished and brunch was ready we all headed into the Kitchen to eat.
Before everyone had even finished eating, the boys were already begging us to open presents. We made them wait until we had cleaned up the kitchen and dining room. Then we all headed downstairs and received our reindeer stockings from Mom/Grandma and Dad/Papa.
Before anyone was able to open anything though, we required a few family pictures.

Each of the boys received a Christmas ornament craft in his stocking, so once we'd finished going through our stocking contents we headed upstairs with them to do their craft.
When all of the boys had finished their ornament, it was finally time for the moment they'd been waiting for: Presents. We headed back into the basement and Grandma and Papa gave everyone their gifts starting with the youngest and making the way all the way to the oldest.

After all of the presents were opened, everyone just played and rested for a while and then it was time to get ready to go to the Christmas Eve Service at church.
The service was beautiful and one of the best I've been to in quite a while and as an added bonus the boys all behaved themselves very well the whole time.
As part of the service Pastor Eric gave a little message for the kids, during which Avery was 'that' kid: The one waving from the front at our family and his Sunday morning teacher. Mr. Outgoing. Mr. Spotlight.
The service ended with a candlelight singing of Silent Night and then we all headed back to our home for a few required family photos followed by a lasagna dinner prepared once again by the chef of our family: Mom.
Finally, we finished off our family celebration with a little relaxed playtime and a movie.
After Aaron and Erika's family had left, we enjoyed the remainder of the evening by letting the boys open up their traditional Christmas Eve gifts (& Eric surprised me with one too), put out cookies and milk for Santa, put the boys to bed and then set up everything for the JOY of Christmas Morning...
