A2H 2019.40: Beautiful

The first week of October was beautiful...

It kicked off on Monday with an absolutely gorgeous fall day in the 80s.  To celebrate such an amazing day, Eric and I decided that for dinner we would take the kids on a family bike ride to Culvers.  It was a great time, even if riding home in the dark was a bit difficult!
FB Post: Enjoyed a final taste of summer with a family bike ride to Culver’s for dinner and dessert.

Hazel was really perplexed by the walking ice cream cone.

Hazel having a bit of fun before bedtime that night.

The next day was also really nice and the boys, wanting to show off their independence, asked if they could take Emma for a walk up and down the sidewalk.  I said yes, but they really should have asked Emma.  In her old age she has apparently decided that she doesn't to listen to the boys and is TOO GOOD to be walked by them!  When they tried to go one way, she would insist on heading the other. Considering walks are few and far between these days I thought she would jump at the chance, but apparently I was wrong.

On Wednesday we had a SWEET day with Hazel in her donut outfit from Grandma and Date Night (with Hazel) dinner that night while the boys were at Awana.  Eric let her try a pickle and she LOVED it! ;)

Thursday this little girl was looking pretty beautiful I thought.  I tried to take a picture for Grandma but Little Miss is too busy for pictures these days and is always on the move!

She's even beautiful covered in spaghetti & garlic bread!

On Friday, we enjoyed our Beautiful week by adding a bit of COLOR to our lives with Asher's school's 2019 Color Run.  A BIG thank you to everyone that donated to support him.  He was able to raise the most money in his entire class which will all go towards some much needed playground equipment for the school!  Thank you!!

Since the color run wasn't until later in the morning, Hazel, Avery and I hung out at home for a little bit beforehand.

We finished Avery's Pikachu Mega Construx!

When it was time for the Color Run, Eric met us at home and then we all headed over to Asher's school to join in on the fun!

Hazel didn't get much color on her because no one wanted to powder the baby, so Eric rubbed her belly on the boys! ;)

After the Color Run Eric headed back to work and the kids and I headed home to clean up and rest.  Once Hazel woke from her nap we headed over to the nearby parking lot to ride bikes/skateboards and play with some friends.

That night we finished out the work-week and began the weekend with a great dinner together at Texas Roadhouse.  When you have kids eating out can go one of two ways.  Either the kids drive you absolutely crazy and you wish you had stayed at home, or the kids behave and everyone has an enjoyable meal.  Thankfully this evening was the latter of the two!  Asher and Avery had fun munching on peanuts and ate their meals.  Hazel happily ate two entire dinner rolls in addition to her baby food and then had a blast talking to the 'baby' (her reflection) behind us! ;)

Finally, we finished out the week with a beautifully relaxing weekend at home together with more sunshine, warm fall weather, family movie time and snuggles!
