Asher's First Christmas

Asher's first Christmas was a day FULL of fun activities.  First, my boys slept in a bit while I woke up to find Mom, Micah, Caleb & Erika in the kitchen making a birthday cake for Jesus.

Once Eric and Asher got up (everyone else was already up) we shared some lazy family time as we waited for the birthday cake to finish baking.  Then we headed downstairs to open presents.

Before we opened presents, we had our traditional family prayer time (shortened for the kids), and then tried to get a few pictures of the boys...we were a little bit more successful this time than we had been on Christmas Eve.

After pictures, it was time to empty the stocks and open gifts.

Mid-way through gift-opening, Asher cashed out, so I had to open his gifts for him.

After all of the gifts were opened, we took some time to have breakfast, relax and let the kids play with their new toys.

When breakfast (or lunch by that point) was finished, we all got dressed up to enjoy some fresh air and the crisp winter snow.  Asher not only got to experience snow for the first time, but he also got to experience his first sled ride.

After playing outside, we all went back into the house to enjoy the rest of the day (still all warm & snuggly in our pjs).

For Christmas, Eric got me Rudolph footie PJs that coincidentally came very close to matching the pjs that Grandma & Grandpa got for the boys.  Thus, we couldn't resist getting some more pictures!

To end the day, we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, enjoyed our birthday cupcakes, and watched a movie together (Arthur Christmas).  Then everyone headed to bed with sugar plums dancing in our heads! :)
