Baby Life Week 28: Getting Back to Normal...Sort Of

After a few weeks of different schedules and lots of fun, life finally got back to our normal routine...sort of.  When Monday came it was the normal week including the typical: eat, sleep, take care of baby, work, repeat...  Before Monday came, however, our routine was still a little different than normal.

On Friday night, before this week started, Eric's parents came to Kenosha to celebrate a late Migrin Christmas with us.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Olive Garden with them (although Asher was bit of a cranky pants), and then on Saturday we got to enjoy a day (mostly) at home with them.  That day started off with exchanging some family presents that we had waited until this weekend to give to one another.

Asher got some yummy wrapping paper (among a few other things) from Auntie Julie & Uncle Dave! :)

He also got a shirt that said "Squeeze Me Smore" from Grandma & Grandpa M...he was so wiggly at the moment though that it was tough to get a good photo of it.

From Uncle Rob he got Captain Calamari, and I got a Zoku ice pop maker, which I am VERY excited to use!

Eric's parents got their annual Migrin Calendar full of pictures from 2012 (meaning LOTS of pictures of their grandbaby).
Before we could finish opening presents, we had to get ready and head out to the Pleasant Prairie Rec Plex.  Now that Asher is 6 months old, we had signed him up for his first swimming class and this Saturday was the first day.  We had a great time introducing him to the water and "swimming" with him, while grandma took some photos for us!

He was a little unsure about being on his back in the water.

After the swimming lessons, Eric's dad was coming down with a cold and was not feeling very well.  We headed home and then Eric & his mom went to get some groceries to make some chicken noodle soup, while his dad, Asher & I stayed home to take some naps (unfortunately Asher woke up from his nap, just I got snuggled into the couch for mine).  Later, after Eric & his mom got back home and got the soup started, we finished opening up the last of the Christmas gifts, included the biggest gift of all for the littlest person, Asher.

Asher got a wagon!

On Sunday, Eric's parents hung out with us for a little bit in the morning and then headed back home.  We spent the rest of the day putting away Christmas decorations and getting our house back in order.  Before we packed everything away though, I wanted to get a couple of pictures of our newest ornaments.  The first is Asher's first Shoebox ornament (first of many annual gifts, like Eric received as a child).  The second ornament is for us to remember the amazing year we had and the amazing gift that God has given us.

Once our company had gone and our house was back in order, our lives got back to our typical routines and we got back to enjoying Baby Life...which as you've read over the course of the past 28 weeks, is not so "typical" after all...but we LOVE it!

Video: This is actually from mid-December, but I forgot to include it back then and it is just too cute not to share! :)
