Avery's Baby Dedication

On Sunday, February 8th, Eric and I dedicated Avery to our Lord and Savior at our church (Immanuel Baptist Church) in Kenosha.  We were joined by 5 other couples dedicating their babies, of which three joined us two years ago when we dedicated Asher.  There were so many babies born in our church this year that six were dedicated during the 10:40 service on this day, 1 during the 8:15 service, and 6 more will be dedicated this coming weekend!  We definitely have no shortage of little ones at our church!

Video: Avery's Introduction

Pastor Dave explaining what it means to dedicate a baby.  It is a promise of the parents and the church members to raise the child according to God's Word and to teach him/her about Him.  It in no way guarantees the child's salvation, but is a vow by Eric and I (& the others) to pray for the kids and do the best we can to allow God to guide us in our parenting of them.

After the dedication/church service was over, we headed back home along with our parents, Aaron & Erika's family and our friends Britni & Fabien's family (they also dedicated their little girl Lilou) for a little celebration brunch.

Modest Decorations...I love my cutting machine!

This picture makes me laugh...she's like a polite little lady excusing her burp (or in this case baby spit-up)

Eric's dad playing with Lilou...I think he likes to have a little girl to play with once in a while.

Avery also was blessed with a few gifts to open...

Including this awesome owl artwork from Auntie Erika & Uncle Aaron...it will be a great addition to the playroom I think!

Apparently even girls like the fart gun! :)

Before the party was over, we attempted to get a picture with Britni, Fabien and Lilou which was similar to the one we took two years ago when Asher & Theo were dedicated...
Then: Eric, Me, Asher, Theo, Britni & Fabien
Now: Eric, Me, Avery, Lilou, Britni & Fabien
Now: With the Big Boys as well.

When the party was all done, it was time for the grandparents to head to their homes in Michigan.  We all had a little more fun with the boys and then said our good-byes after a great morning and afternoon!
