A Ninja's 5th Birthday

This past weekend, we celebrated my nephew Caleb's 5th birthday at his grandparents' lake home in Burlington.  It was a great Ninja Turtle-themed time full of boat rides, yummy food and fun in the water.

In the Lake...
Mom & Avery

The boys (big & small) splashing in the water

Sadly after hearing of the events at Disney world this week, this picture brought on a whole different meaning.  :(  My heart goes out to the little boy's family.

Jump Micah!

On the Boat...
Avery & Papa

Caleb, Eliza & Micah preparing to watch the tubing action.

Asher was brave and willing to be the first to go tubing.  He and Eric had a lot of fun cruising around the lake together.

Eric trying to get Asher to raise his arms up.

Eliza cheering them on.

Caleb & Micah enjoying the excitement and cheering too!

Aaron & Avery

You can't tell in these pictures, but Asher had a huge smile on this face!

He did it!  Asher raised his arms!

Next up is Caleb.  He wasn't real sure about this, but we convinced him to give it a shot.

Again, you can't tell, but Caleb enjoyed himself and had a big smile on his face once he got comfortable with it.

The last kid to go was Avery.  Micah and Eliza didn't want to try it out, but Avery did.  He happily went into the tube but did have a look of "what did I get myself into?" when he got there.  Once they got going though, he had a blast and Eric said he was laughing the whole time...other than when they hit some large bumps and he looked a bit concerned that he might fly out!

Asher waving at Daddy and his little Bro.

When the tubing was finished, the Jim and Eric ended our boat ride with a bit of water skiing.

The boys had fun watching Daddy on the lake.

Love Avery's expression!  When he really gets excited to smile, his little eyes always end up tightly closed!

Craft Time: When we got back on shore, the kids had fun spraying a white sheet with watercolor paint to give it a tie-dyed look...

Hudson decided to spray himself.  He looked like he had Smurf Measles.

Presents!...

More Lake Time...
Avery taking Caleb's new Orca for a ride.

Hudson & Christopher enjoying the slide.

You can't have a Birthday Party without cake!...
When Erika' brought the cupcakes over to the table, Avery was SOOOOO excited...

Avery before the cupcakes arrived.

Avery after the cupcakes arrived.  He immediately said, "OOOOoooooo!!!" and then started waving his hands and clapping in excitement.

The birthday boy and his cool cupcakes.

Avery getting very impatient for a cupcake.

Shear Joy...Yum!

He knows how to put down a cupcake!

His cupcake is gone, but Grandma is filling him up with ice cream.

Eyeing up Grandma's cupcake.

Heros in a half shell...Turtle Power!!...
Before we headed home, we got four of the 7 kids to participate in a photo with the cool Ninja Turtle masks and shells that Erika made for them.

Showing off their ninja moves.

Happy Birthday Caleb!!
