On the Friday morning between Christmas and New Year's we loaded up the van and headed to Michigan for the weekend to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with Eric's family.
The drive to Eric's parents was very uneventful and by mid afternoon we were hanging out with the rest of the family.

On Saturday we enjoyed a belated family Christmas together opening presents, playing some games and enjoying one another's company.

In the afternoon, the fun continued with some play outside and inside with the boys' new presents.

On Sunday it was New Year's Eve and we closed out the year with much of the same as the rest of the week...fun, rest, snuggles and family time.

We also got to have "one last Christmas morning" on Sunday as we opened the gifts we'd received from extended family from the Migrin family party that Eric's parents went to the night before.

In the afternoon, Asher was really interested in ice skating and decided to give it a shot. It was a little harder than he thought it would be, but I think he still had fun.

On Sunday night, we finished out the year with a little New Year's Eve party. Dave suggested that we needed a craft for the kids to do and since there were 10 of us (Rob & Negin had left already) I suggested we each color a number for our own New Year's Countdown.
When everyone was finished coloring their number, we got out the party hats, horns, champagne glasses (plastic) and sparkling grape juice to celebrate the end of the year...a few hours in advance.
