The day started off much earlier than anticipated. When we are home we typically wake up at about 6:30 every day to get ready for work, school and daycare and even when we have no where to go the kids still wake us up at that time or earlier. While on our 'date' we had dreams of sleeping in. Without the kids we thought that it would be no problem but our internal clocks had a different plan. Instead of sleeping in we still woke up at around 6:30 most days but unfortunately it was 6:30 local (Eastern) time, which was only 5:30 our time! While it was earlier than we would have preferred, it did have its benefits of giving us a early start to enjoy our day and also allowing us to see the sunrise several times!

A quiet morning outdoor snuggle. It is amazing to relax with Eric without having the boys jumping all over us.
While Eric and I were on vacation my goal was to take as many steps as possible and try to make up for the minimal steps I get in normally (it is ridiculously low). To do so, we took the stairs on the ship pretty much whenever we had four or less flights to go up or down. While in the stair wells, we made sure to take note of all the artwork scattered around the ship (also noting that it seems like they move the artwork around during the night, but we just aren't sure).

On Sunday morning we also attempted a FaceTime call with the boys. They were very happy to get to talk to us and tell us how things were going. We talked for a while but when it was time to hang up Asher got very sad and started to cry. Thus, it was our last time FaceTiming them all week. Eric's dad even said that he had to unplug Alexa at home because Asher kept trying to call us on it.
Before Eric and I went on the cruise we wondered what it would be like to go on one now that we are parents. We joked that since we are now early risers we would do everything there is to do on the ship and then realize that it was only 9am. We were not far off. The picture below of "Bacon Thirty" (aka breakfast) was taken at 8:38 am EST. Everything pictured above was done before that!
After breakfast we enjoyed a lazy day in the Solarium soaking up the sun, reading, sleeping and people watching while we sailed across the deep blue sea.

He also tried the Ultimate Abyss (a 10 story slide on the back of the ship)...I wanted to see what he thought of the slides before I tried them out myself! ;)
As evening fell over the Atlantic the Super Bowl fun began. Originally we were supposed to see the Aqua show in the Aqua Theater on this night, but then it was rescheduled so that the Super Bowl could be watched there. They had it showing on the two large outdoor screens accompanied by an ice sculpture, two huge cakes and a nacho buffet with the largest pan of taco meat that I have ever seen!

(2) Videos: A Little Patriotism
After all the country has gone through the past few years it was nice to see a little bit of patriotism on the ship!

When dinner was done, Eric and I changed back into our normal clothes and headed back to the Aqua Theater to watch the end of the game (which turned out to be a pretty good game!) and finish out the night. Then we headed back to our room to get some sleep and close out day 2 over our trip.
