2017 Winter Getaway Day 3: Fun & Sun

Day 3 of our vacation was Friday and after two days of traveling, we were ready for a lazy day of fun in the sun, sand and water.  We were tired of traveling and needing some rest, but despite the time difference, Avery still woke up bright and early.  So, he and I headed outside to enjoy the latter part of the sunrise and view.

Once everyone else was awake, we got ready to "Have a Swell Day" playing outside.

First, we headed over to the pool.  It was already in the mid 70s outside, but quite windy.  Thankfully, the pool was heated and the sun was shining, so we were still set to get wet.

After a couple of hours enjoying the pool and hot tub, we headed over to the beach for a while and found some giant iguanas sunning themselves!

In addition to checking out the iguanas, the boys had a great time playing in the sand and water.

Once we had soaked in all of the sunshine we could get for the morning, we headed back to our room for lunch and naps.  When everyone was fully rested, we enjoyed some lazy time in the room and then headed out for an afternoon treat, some playtime at a local park and then dinner.

We got our treat from a Dairy Queen that was just a block or so from the hotel.  The look on Asher's face when he saw his chocolate dipped ice cream cone was absolutely priceless.  He attempted to recreate it for me so I could take a picture, but it wasn't quite the same.  Close, but not quite.

Avery had to share with Mommy.  He wasn't impressed, but got over it quickly.

For dinner, we found a place called Snappers, where we enjoyed a tasty meal and some live music afterwards.

Ironically, Eric and Dad found this sign in the bar/music area of the restaurant!  ;)
When dinner was over, we headed back outside to enjoy a little more of the music before we left.  The boys had had fun tearing it up on the dance floor while we waited for our food and wanted more. When we got there, they were taking a bit of a break and then serenading a birthday girl, but eventually they started playing again and back to the dance floor they went.  This time though, they were a little more shy and Avery wasn't quite into it anymore, so instead I joined Asher on the floor.  That night, when I put him to sleep he told me that what made him sad that day is that I hadn't danced with him before we had our dinner (because only he, Eric, Avery and my dad had gone out there).  Then he told me what made him really happy that day...when I danced with him and twirled him around before we went home!  <3  :)
