We began week 15 of 2019 with a sick boy. On Monday Eric stayed home with Asher. By Tuesday morning, Avery was also down for the count so I stayed home with both boys and worked from the kitchen table for the day. My mom was already planning to come down on Thursday for a weekend visit, so knowing that it took Asher about 5 days to get over whatever he had I figured we could use the help and asked if she would consider coming down early. Thankfully, she obliged and was there by that night.

By Tuesday afternoon Asher was feeling mostly better, but Avery was pretty miserable. Even so, we all had to head out to pick up Hazel at daycare. I had the boys stay in the car to keep their germs as far away from the daycare as possible, but as we started to leave Avery turned into a complete mess and lost it that he wasn't able to say goodbye to Christina...

On Wednesday and Thursday Avery and Grandma stayed home together while the rest of us went our separate ways to daycare, school and work.

| After a snowy day on Wednesday and a windy gloomy day on Thursday the sun shining through the clouds was a nice sight as I drove to work on Friday morning. |
That day (Friday) I only worked a half day and then came home to spend the remainder of the day with Grandma, Avery, Asher and Hazel.
 |
| Thankfully Hazel warmed up to Grandma. When my mom first arrived this week Hazel was a little scared and would cry every time my mom talked to her. She wasn't quite sure of this new person in our household but got over it quickly and then they were good buddies for the remainder of the week. |
When the weekend came we enjoyed a lazy morning and then it was time to split up for a girls' day and a boys' day. Us girls headed to Crystal Lake where we enjoyed our very first tea party at my bother and sister-in-law's church. Meanwhile, the boys all had their own adventure around Kenosha checking out the indoor Harbor Market, catching Pokemon for Pokemon Go and eating Octodogs.

Before us girls headed out, Hazel was pampered with a mini spa day. She was getting pretty bad cradle cap beneath her lovely locks of hair, so I gave her the oil/comb treatment and then had a little fun with her greasy hair before giving her a bath.

When we got back to Kenosha the girls met the boys at Chick-fil-A to check out the new restaurant in town. It was pretty good but turned into quite an experience when a little girl pooped in the play place and all of the kids had to get out so that it could be cleaned.

On Sunday morning, my mom packed up to head back home. We enjoyed another lazy morning during which the boys discovered all of the goodies that I had purchased for their Easter baskets. I was pretty bummed out. I work so hard to pick out fun items that would not just be more junk to add to the house and they had seen it all. On top of that we have been trying hard to keep the holiday magic in the house. We try not to lie to the kids, but at the same time enjoy some of the fun of Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc. It is just one way for them to enjoy the mystery of childhood a little bit longer, but there was no way we could give them goodies from the Bunny that they had already seen. Then we all headed to church. Since it was Palm Sunday, the preschool kids surprised us by coming into the gym with palm branches waving. Avery spent the entire time happily waving at us from the front of the church! ;)

When we went into church it had just begun snowing lightly. We figured it would be finished up when church was over. Instead, it had intensified and was a full-blown blizzard. Since my mom couldn't drive home in this weather we headed to Sam's Club to pick up a few things and then drove out to Cracker Barrel for breakfast.
When breakfast was over, the weather was starting to let up. Mom followed us back home where we enjoyed some naps and the boys built a snowman and then she drove home when the snow had cleared.

By week 16, everyone was mostly healthy again. We had a quick week filled with the usual responsibilities coupled with some baby giggles and our favorite Awana night (aka Date Night) and then finished off with a lovely Easter weekend in the U.P.

This Wednesday was the last night of regular Awana, which meant it was also our last night for Date Night. We decided to go to Red Robin because they had a deal for free dessert with the purchase of a meal and I LOVE their Mudslide Cake!! After we got there we were seated in just a few minutes but then sat at a table for at least 20 minutes without anyone stopping at our table to greet us, take a drink order or deliver menus. After such a long wait, we were pretty annoyed and realized that we would no longer have time to eat there before Awana was done we decided to get up and leave. On the way out, Eric briefly spoke with the manager who apologized profusely and then asked if we would be willing to stay if he could get us food and out the door in the next 40 minutes. We agreed and then he found us a table, got us some waters and then personally took our orders. Not more than 5 minutes later our food was at our table, hot and fresh. Once we'd finished eating I ordered my dessert to go and then we asked for our bill. Surprisingly we were told that not just the dessert was free. Instead, our entire meal was on the house and out the door we went. It started off as a frustrating meal, but we were both very impressed with how the manager worked to make it up to his customers!
