Fall Family Fun

This past weekend, Mom and Dad decided to come down to Kenosha to join Eric, Asher and I along with Aaron, Erika and the kids for some Fall Family Fun.  They came down on Friday night and stayed until Sunday.  On Saturday morning we hung out at home until Aaron's family got there.

Once the rest of the Klingenmaier crew got here, we played for a while in the basement (with some new toys that I scored at neighborhood garage sales), while Aaron started some homemade beer bread for dinner later.  Then, we packed up all the kids and headed over to Jerry Smith's Pumpkin Farm.

At the pumpkin farm, we had a great time enjoying the beautiful day, chasing bubbles, munching on caramel corn, checking out the animals, looking at the pumpkin scenes, playing on the playground, and just savoring some good old family fun.

We tried to get a picture of the boys together.  This was the best we could do.  It is tough to get 3 kids that have a combined age of less than 5 to sit still for a picture!

We tried also to get a picture of the grandkids with Grandma & Papa...same problem.

3 Little Pumpkins

After enjoying a couple of hours at the farm, we headed back home to continue the Fall fun.  We got the boys dressed up in their costumes for more photo ops.  Then we finished up dinner and enjoyed a family meal.  What would be a better meal to top of the day with...homemade beef stew (Paula Dean style) and beer bread.  It was delicious.  Afterwards, we officially ended the evening with some homemade baked apple dumplings and ice cream.  Does it get any better than that?

When dessert was eaten and we were all fully stuffed, Aaron & Erika packed up their boys and headed home.  That was at about 7pm.  By 8pm, we could barely stay awake and Dad passed out on the couch.  At 9pm, we all headed to bed.  It was a great day, exhausting, but great.

The next day, we enjoyed a relaxing morning at home (made much more exciting by Asher rolling over 3 times in his crib!!), church and breakfast, and then it was time to bid Mom & Dad fair well.  Thanks for coming to visit us...we can't wait to see you again! :)
