Asher is already four months old and he is still growing like crazy. Some of his 3-6 months clothes are already getting small on him, but at the same time he still wears a few of his 0-3 month clothes. On Wednesday of this week, we took him to his 4 month check-up and shots. He did MUCH better with his shots than he did last time. Last time he screamed for the shots and then was very upset throughout the afternoon. This time, he barely cried at all, but he did get a bit of a fever that evening. The pediatrician said that he is a healthy little boy, and is in the 90+ percentile for weight, height and head size (16#10oz, 27" long, 17.5" head circum.).
Beyond growing physically, he is also growing in many other ways. Socially, he is much more interactive and laughs quite a bit these days. He follows us around the room when we set him down and loves to "talk". He also wants to be included on things, which is finally getting us to eat at our dinner table. Usually, as long as he can sit there with us while we eat, he is MUCH happier. His motor skills are also getting very good. He can easily grab at the things he wants to play with and has become a pro at getting things to his mouth (which often results in him gagging himself). Along those lines, he also has become a big fan of chewing on his hands and sucking his thumb. He rolled over this month for the first time (and has now done it a total of 5 times), but isn't very interested in it. Despite that, he is definitely a wiggler. The other day, Eric and I were laying next to each other on the couch with Asher on Eric's chest. Asher decided that he wanted to be with me and made it onto my chest by himself. It was pretty impressive. Also, while I was taking his 4 month photos, I kept having to move to get in front of him because he kept rotating around in circles. Sleep-wise, Asher is a pro! He really doesn't sleep much during the day (and I'm starting to wonder if I should try to change that), but at night he typically sleeps from 8-9 hours without waking. This week, he did wake up a few times during the night though, so I am hoping that that does not became a habit.
Other than that, I can't think of much to share (verbally). We are enjoying life as a family to the fullest and look forward to what the fifth month brings. Now for the visual/audio sharing...here are 3 videos and lots of pictures from Asher's 4 month photo shoot for your enjoyment (that's probably all anyone really cares about anyway, right?) :)
