Migrin Family Weekend

As I mentioned in a previous post, Eric, Asher & I headed to Michigan at the beginning of February to celebrate the soon-to-arrive newest member of the Migrin clan at the Sturza Baby Shower.  The shower was what we did on Saturday afternoon of that weekend, but we were in Michigan from Friday to Sunday.  The rest of the time was spent at the cottage in Coldwater, or at Eric's parents house in Livonia with the rest of his family.

We drove to the cottage on Thursday night after work, and since the weather was not so great, it took us more than 5 hours to get there and we did not arrive until around midnight.  On Friday morning we enjoyed some lazy time in Coldwater chillin' at the cottage, touring the local Meijer and feasting on McDonald's breakfast.

At around lunch time, we left the cottage and headed to Livonia.  Before we could go there though, we had to stop at Elephant Ears in Ann Arbor for Baby Sturza's gift.

After perusing the store and making a quick stop to visit Eric's sister and see the baby's nursery, we headed to Livonia.  Since that day was also Eric's dad's 59th birthday, we got to go and celebrate a little birthday dinner with him at OTB (yum!).  When dinner was over, we headed over to visit Great Grandma Smiley for a little bit before heading back home...

Not long after we got home, Uncle Rob arrived giving Asher a little bit more time to play before bed.

Finally, the excitement of Friday was done and we got some sleep.  On Saturday Eric's Mom and I headed to the shower, which meant that Asher stayed home with Daddy, Uncle Rob, Emma and Grandpa.  Rob had his camera with him, so he had a little photo shoot with Emma and Asher.  Enjoy...

Although this picture is a bit blurry, I love the mischievous smile on Asher's face!
Enough pictures...give me that thing!

What a ham!

After the shower, everyone (Grandma & Grandma Migrin, Eric, Asher, Emma, Me, Uncle Rob, Aunt Julie, Uncle Dave & Molly) went back to the house for dinner as one big (very happy) family.  As usual, Emma and Molly were not getting along real great off the bat, but then Uncle Dave had the idea for them to go outside and play for a bit.  It worked great and the rest of the evening they played together quite nicely...even though play meant neither of them leaving the other alone and Emma continually trying to climb on top of Molly's head.

Sunday was our last day in Michigan, so before we headed back to Wisconsin, we had a delicious brunch to celebrate Eric's dad's birthday (again with the entire family this time).  After some tasty waffles,  giving Grandpa M. his presents and enjoying a bit of carrot birthday cake, we loaded up the car, said our goodbyes and drove back home.  We had a great time, and we look forward to the next time we will get to visit (to meet Baby Sturza!!).

PS: A special thank to Rob Migrin for some great shots of Asher, Emma and the rest of the family! :)
