Sturza Baby Shower

I mentioned in my last post that Eric, Asher & I headed to Michigan for the weekend last Thursday.  The reason that we made the trek over there was to celebrate with Julie & Dave as we await the arrival of Baby Sturza (the soon-to-be newest member of the Migrin clan).  The shower was thrown by Eric's Mom & Grandmother in the Marriot Hotel.  The restaurant there catered the food (which was delicious) and then for dessert we had cake and chocolate covered strawberries (also amazingly yummy!).  Eric's mom came up with the idea for a "Boy oh Boy" sports themed party, along with a bunch of decorationing ideas (Pinterest is too addictive), then after Eric's dad made some sporty onesies (per a Pinterest idea Eric's mom had found) and I made some "wishes for the baby" penants and we were all set.  

On Saturday morning Eric's mom and I headed over to the hotel to put out all of the decorations and prepare for the shower, which was at 1pm.  The soon-to-be parents arrived at around 12:30 and then half an hour later the fun began.  We enjoyed our lunch, dessert and then watched as the new mommy and daddy opened their gifts.  While they opened gifts we played a timer game.  When the timer went off, whoever's gift was being opened won a prize...my kind of game (pretty easy).  :)  Everything went very well and it seemed that everyone had a great time.  Afterward, we packed up all of the gifts (we were determined to fit EVERYTHING on a hotel luggage cart), brought it all out to the car and headed back home to enjoy the rest of the evening.

PS: We cannot wait to meet the little guy!!  It has only been 7 months since Asher was born, and I already can barely remember what it feels like to hold a newborn!
