Fall Fun with Grammy & Gramps

After the work/school/daycare week of A Team 161 was complete, the weekend began with more Fall Fun.  As soon as Asher, Avery and I got back home from our Fall Scavenger Hunt at Pet's Park, they got into their Halloween Costumes and then we headed to Asher's school for the Fall Fest party.  There they got to play a bunch of fun games to try and win some small prizes and candy and the fun continued as they got to enjoy it not only with Mommy and Daddy, but also Grammy and Gramps who met us there to start a fun fall family weekend together.

The kids had a pretty good time playing games, but unfortunately Asher was in a bit of a funk as he seems to always be on Fridays these days after a long and exhausting week of school.  We headed into the gym to get the kids some food and then showed Grammy and Gramps the school library.  Then, after Asher decided he didn't want to partake in the school costume parade, we headed home...only for him to then decided he DID want to participate when it was too late.  :(  Oh well.  We went home and the kids went to bed and then the adults enjoyed a quiet dinner of chinese take-out together.

The next morning, the boys were super excited to get to play with Grammy and Gramps right off the bat.  We enjoyed a little bit of lazy time in the early part of the morning but then motivated and headed out to Jerry Smith's Pumpkin Farm to take advantage of the amazingly beautiful fall day (sunny and in the mid 70's!).  There, we had a blast looking at the pumpkin scenes and trying to get the most of the money spent on our wristbands (thank you again Grammy & Gramps!).

Asher was thirsty and Eric bought him his very first can of pop!  He was thrilled...I made him share it with Avery and I.

The boys really wanted to go down this inflatable slide which you had to pay extra for.  I gave them each $1 to go which gave them two rides down each.  They were quick rides, but quite funny to watch.  I wish I could have gotten a video of the look on Avery's face as he sped down the slide!

After almost four hours of fun at the pumpkin farm we went to Sam's Club where we enjoyed lunch and several yummy samples!  Then we all headed back home for much-needed naps!  That evening, Grammy and Gramps watched the boys for us and enjoyed a fire with pie-iron sandwiches and s'mores for dinner while Eric and I got to go out to a movie together.

The next day, it was time for Grammy and Gramps to head back home.  We went to the early service at church, enjoyed a late breakfast at Mason's and then headed back home so they could pack up and we could say our goodbyes.  It was a great (& exhausting) weekend together and we can't wait to se them again!
