Florida Getaway 2020: Day 2: Pass-A-Grill

Our first night on vacation was a rough one.  The hotel (thankfully) was really nice and provided us a separate living area for the boys to sleep, which made the rough night *slighly* easier.  Eric, Hazel and I slept in the separate bedroom which at first seemed like a perfect situation as it held two queen sized beds AND a crib for Hazel!  After a very late dinner that night we all went to bed and for about an hour Hazel slept peacefully in the crib.  After that one hour though, there was no peace to be found.  Hazel was up crying for most of the night (which meant that Eric and I were also up most of the night).  In the end, I believe we *maybe* got 3-4 hours of sleep total and Hazel ended up spending the second part of the night in bed with me as she had NO desire to sleep in the crib.

When morning came, Eric took the boys out of our room to explore a little while Hazel and I rested and relaxed for a little while.

Once we were all motivated to leave the room, we headed downstairs to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast.  It was a full buffet and wasn't cheap, but it was a nice change after eating all fast-food the day before.

Hazel playing peek-a-boo with her bib...and getting her breakfast ALL OVER her face!

After breakfast, Asher, Avery, Hazel and I headed to the pool to play for a bit while Eric set off to a nearby Hertz to pick up our car rental for the week.

When Eric returned we all headed back up to our room to get ready, get our luggage and get on the move for our true destination: Pass-A-Grill, Florida!

A quirky tree inside the hotel's courtyard.

We couldn't help but stop at the 7-Eleven up the street from our hotel before making our way to the beach to introduce the boys to their very first (REAL) Slurpie! :P

Around lunch time we finally made it to Pass-A-Grill, gave Grammy and Gramps big hugs and got checked into our room at the Keystone (our 'home' for the week).  Once we were slightly settled in, we got on our suits and headed across the street to the beach!  πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

For Hazel, this was a first!  She was in desperate need of a nap, but Eric and I couldn't deprive her of the Florida sunshine nor the opportunity to let her put her piggies in the ocean for the very first time (in the exact same place that both of the boys did the very same thing!).
Our cutie heading to the ocean for the first time.

It was pretty chilly.  She wasn't overly impressed.

After providing Hazel with that fun 'first', we spent the next few hours enjoying a beautiful Florida day at the beach.  The boys played in the sand and water and Eric and I also enjoyed a long walk up the coast with Hazel in the stroller (who we hoped would take a long nap, but she was so interested in everything going on that she only slept for about a half hour).

A tiny shell with a creature still inside! (We tossed it back into the water).

While Hazel wasn't real keen on playing in the chilly ocean  water, she LOVED playing in the sand!

I think Gramps had a lot of fun playing in the sand too! ;)

Tradition.  <3

After we had our fill of the sand and salty sea for the day, we headed back to the Keystone to play in the pool.

Finally, after getting cleaned up from our day of fun in the sun, we finished off our day with dinner at Taco Bus followed by a delicious ice cream treat across the street from our motel.
Little Miss couldn't resist sleep any longer!

What to choose??  What to choose??

The following serious of pictures make me laugh every time I look at them.  Unfortunately for Asher, he has gotten my ability to always look goofy in pictures!

Hazel wanted nothing to do with my ice cream, INSISTING that she feed herself.  Since Avery only wanted his ice cream in a bowl, we gave her his cone with a little bit of ice cream inside.  She was a very content little girl.
