This week was Halloween. We played dress-up, carved pumpkins, roasted pumpkin seeds, went trick-or-treating and visited with family to results in one fun-filled week!
Thursday, October 29: Today the boys got to wear their costumes to school for the day. As we were getting ready to leave, Asher put his Harry Potter glasses on Hazel. I think we found her costume for next year. What do you think?

Earlier in the week, Avery had gone to the grocery store with Eric. They came home with Baby Yoda Fruit Roll Ups for us to share. I had to show Avery my Baby Yoda tongue tattoo.
|
At school, Avery got to study the aspects of a pumpkin and also make some spooky slime...
That night, we were all surprised with a fun Halloween package that arrived from Grammy and Gramps. We opened it up and found some yummy treats for us all and some Halloween books for the kids.
Finally, after dinner that evening Eric and the kids concluded the night by emptying out our pumpkins in preparation of carving.
Video: Manager Hazel
While the boys cleaned out the pumpkins, Eric tried to get Hazel to help. She was not interested in the dirty work, but will make a great manager someday! :P

Friday, October 30: On Friday, Hazel and I enjoyed our morning together and then spent the afternoon with the boys. That evening, we finished out the day by carving up our pumpkins.

Avery discovered that he could use the button Grammy sewed onto his blanket to turn it into a superhero cape!

This year we only had one extra pumpkin to carve! I carved my and Hazel's pumpkins, Eric carved his own and for the first time ever BOTH of the boys carved their pumpkins almost entirely on their own as well (Avery did require minimal assistance).

 |
Prior to carving pumpkins, I had been folding laundry. For some unknown reason, Hazel decided to put on Avery's (clean) undies and wore them the rest of the night! :P

Saturday, October 30: Today it was officially Halloween! Seriously, how is this year going by so fast...and so slow all at once? We spent the morning getting ready for my family to visit and adding a little Spooky festiveness to the house. While I was cleaning things up, I noticed Hazel was a little red-faced and asked her if she wanted to sit on the potty! She did and we went! Yay!! ...if only I could get her to do it again!
In the early afternoon, my parents and my brother's family came over to spend the rest of the day with us. It was a fabulous fall day and we all enjoyed walking around our neighborhood together while the kids trick-or-treated. It was a little different this year with less participating and plenty of candy slides, but we all had a good time nonetheless.
 |
Hazel wasn't entirely sure what was going on today, but she was VERY interested in the candy!
|
When we had finished trick-or-treating, we headed across the street to give our favorite neighbor, Marge her belated 89th birthday gift. Then we went back home for dinner, time to visit and time to celebrate our nephew/cousin Hudson's up-coming birthday with the family!

Sunday, November 1: Today we finished out the week with church and a lazy day at home to rest from a fun, but busy and tiring week.
Video: Stomp Rockets
Hazel got to play with the boys' kiwi crate stomp rockets. She thought they were hilarious!
