Michigan Vacation Day 11: Home Sweet Home

Well, the day finally came.  After 10 days traveling around Michigan, seeing God's beautiful creations, creating wonderful family memories and visiting with our wonderful family and friends it was finally time for our vacation to be over...it was finally time to head home.  We spent the morning getting our van packed up for the last time and enjoying a few last moments in the UP.  Then we headed to Menominee to enjoy breakfast at Schloegel's Restaurant (one of our favorite places) with Mom and Dad before we said our goodbyes.  When breakfast was over (after finally being able to have Asher touch a Great Lake for the first time) we headed back home.  When we got back to Kenosha, everyone was happy to be home.  11 days was a long time to be away and we were all excited to rest and relax on our own turf.  Eric and I were excited to sleep in our own bed, Emma seemed thrilled to sleep in and defend (from squirrels & bunnies) her backyard again, and Asher was very happy to revisit all of his toys!  It was an amazing trip, and I am so thankful for having the opportunity to go and spend such quality moments with my favorite people!

Nothing beats breakfast outside!
Asher HAD to have one more dip in the pool before we left!

Asher touching a Great Lake (Lake Michigan) for the first time...you would have thought it would have been sooner since we only live 3 miles from the lake, but oh well...it is better that it happened in the state the lake was named after anyway!

Asher excited to have his old toys again.  He was very happy to play all afternoon!

1,527 miles later, we are back home!
Emma is happy to be home to...back to her usual routine!
