Wisconsin Vacation Day 6: Mt. Olympus

Friday was the 6th day of our Wisconsin vacation and our last full day before heading home.  Since it was going to be a very hot and sunny day, we decided to enjoy a quick French Toast breakfast and then head to the Dells to introduce Asher to his first waterpark experience.  While the Dells has several different options for indoor and outdoor water fun, we chose Mt. Olympus because it supposedly had the most for small children to do.

We arrived at Mt. Olympus at around 11am and after getting the boys in their suits we set off to find some water fun.  Asher had been pretty bummed that we were not going to the lake again, but we assured him he would have a lot of fun and be able to play in water.  We stopped at the first thing that we could find that allowed small children; the lazy river.

After floating around the river a couple of times we headed over to Kiddie City to let Asher experience a real water slide.

After a while at Kiddie City we headed to the Lost City of Atlantis, and along the way we checked out the indoor water park.

We spent most of the rest of our time at Mt. Olympus in the area of the Lost City.  There were a lot of small rides there (some of which we were able to convince Asher to go on) and the "Naughty Bucket" (a large bucket that dumped 1,000 gallons of water every 5 minutes...which Asher enjoyed watching but refused to go anywhere near).  Mom was a great help during the day as she took care of Avery so we could focus on Asher and tried to get Avery to take a nap.  Unfortunately, there was just too much going on and our nosy little guy just couldn't focus on sleeping.  Mom also took care of both boys for a little bit of the day so that Eric and I could go on some rides on our own (thanks Mom!).

Avery couldn't take it anymore and finally gave in to his tiredness.
At about 5pm that evening, we had all had about as much as we could take.  We had a great day, but we were exhausted sunburnt (Eric & I mostly) and hungry.  We headed back to our home for the week, but on the way we had to pick up some vanilla ice cream per Dad's instructions (he had decided not to join us at the waterpark).  First, we stopped at the Dino gas station to see if they had ice cream.  They didn't, but Asher was still excited to see the dinosaur up close.  Then we stopped at Walmart to get ice cream and headed back to the campsite.  Once there, we enjoyed a delicious cheeseburger dinner followed up by pineapple upside-down cake that Dad had made for us in the Dutch oven!  It was all delicious and a great end to the day/week.

Seriously, how cute is he?  ;)

Dad with his awesome dessert.

Avery was an eating machine all week, but on this evening he just didn't want to stop.  In the end, he probably ate more for dinner than I did, including about 3/4 of a cheeseburger!

Bath time before bed to rinse off the chlorine and sunscreen from the day.

Asher was taking a shower in the bathhouse, and Avery was pretty thrilled to get to play with Asher's jet ski while he was away.  Of course as soon as Asher came back from his shower and saw Avery playing with it, he took it away. :(
