On Saturday of The A Team Week 43, our vacation was drawing to a close and it was time to pack up and head home. We spent the morning on a wild goose chase to find breakfast (apparently going out for breakfast in Wisconsin Dells on a Saturday morning is a VERY bad idea. The town was crazy busy and every restaurant had a minimum 1 hour wait...even McDonalds was busy!). After wasting about 2 hours driving around, we ended up having a quick breakfast at a McDonalds outside of The Dells and then headed back to our campsite to pack up.

We had promised Asher that we could enjoy one more trip to the beach before we left, so when all of our stuff was packed up it was time to make good on that promise. Unfortunately though, it was Saturday and almost 90 degrees so when we went down to park by the beach we were told that we had to go to the South Beach because the parking lot was full. This meant that we lost contact with Mom and Dad (who were going to meet us there) and that we wasted more time driving to the other beach. By the time we got there, the sky had grown dark and it started to rain! :( Since it was still warm and not thundering though, we let Asher get his lake time in while Avery and I tried to stay dry under a nearby tree.
After a little time at the beach, we headed over to the visitors center to get Asher's Junior Ranger badge for completing his junior ranger booklet and our National Park Passport Cancelations for visiting the
Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

Once we were finished with our passport cancelations, we headed back to the campsite one last time to get the trailer and check out. Before we left Devil's Lake though we made a quick stop at the gift shop for some souvenirs (Eric & I got shirts and a Christmas ornament and Asher got a magnet to put on the lockers in his room plus a polished rock that he really wanted). Then we left the park and made our way home. Both of the boys were asleep before we passed the park's entrance.

We arrived back at home at around 6pm that evening and after a Qdoba dinner, some unpacking and a bit more play time, we all went to bed. It was SOOOOO nice to sleep in our own beds!!!

On Sunday, our vacation ended with one final (very lazy) day spent together at home...and one venture out for Culver's treats and some groceries...
