Avery's 4 Year Batman Birthday Party

On Saturday, September 22 we celebrated Avery's 4th birthday with family and a Batman-themed party.  I kept the party pretty simple with a batman piñata and surprises for the kids and simple decorations put together from toys and party supplies that we already had around the house + a few batman balloons, a banner and some food cards that I made...

Decorations:

Activities: Good old playtime, both inside and out.

Being that Avery is now 4, he gets to drive the gator.  Big brother isn't overly happy about it.

Food: For dinner we had a pretty low-key meal including to following:
  • Batman Burgers, Brats & Hotdogs
  • Bat Food Sidekicks (i.e. condiments)
  • Scarecrow Stuffings Salad (Pasta Salad)
  • Poison Ivy Salad (Garden Salad)
  • Two Face Fries (Smiley Face French Fries)
  • Harley Quinn Hammers (Pretzel Sticks with Cheese Cubes)
  • Killer Croc Ridges & Scales (Ridged Potato Chips & Doritos)
  • Batman -Shaped Jigglers
  • Joker Juice
  • Mr. Freeze Cubes

Presents: Avery was blessed with a few presents from his cousins (both near and far) and grandparents as well.  He was very excited about everything that he got but watching him open the Optimus Prime Transformer that he received from Grandma and Papa is something I will never for get.  His face was absolutely priceless!

The bigger boys were quite interested in the Optimus Prime as well!

Thank you hugs to go around.

We also had a gift that we wanted to give to him during the party so that he would have a little more time to play with it (compared to if we gave it to him on his actual birthday, Monday evening).

After Avery opened all of his presents, we headed outside to let him try out his new bike.  He was very excited by the big-boy bike, but quickly got frustrated by the brakes, which his tricycle did not have.  It took him a while, but this week (almost a month later) he seems to finally be getting the hang of it.

Sad that he is having a hard time figuring it out :(

While Avery worked to figure out his new bike, Papa and Micah worked to try and figure out how to transform Optimus.  It is a toy for ages 8+ but should be higher than that.  It took both my dad and I about an hour AFTER the party plus some YouTube videos to finally figure out how to get Optimus into a semi truck.

Cake: When all of our playtime, dinner and presents were done we finished off the party with some cake AND (of course) Batman Ice Cream.
