MI/KY Vacation Day 1: Independence Day

On Friday of Toddler Tales Week 53, it was Independence Day and also the start of our family vacation.  That morning, we loaded up the van and then headed to Michigan to join Eric's family at the cottage.  It was a long drive, with a 2 year old that wasn't thrilled to be in the car, but eventually we made it.
Asher all set to head out of Kenosha.

Video: These days Asher loves to sing.  Recently he surprised us when we discovered that he knows a familiar song (& we had no idea)

By the time we made it to the cottage, the rest of Eric's family was already there.  We spent the remainder of the holiday playing outside and enjoying the beautiful summer day.

After dinner, we enjoyed a quick tour of the lake before bedtime.

Once the kiddos were in bed, the beer challenge began.  This is not something that I ever participate in, but I will admit it is entertaining to watch.  :)

Finally, we wrapped up the day with some fireworks on the lake, and thus ended Day 1 of our vacation.
